Student Assistants

As a student in high school, college, or graduate school, you can discover what future career opportunities California State Parks has to offer, learn valuable professional skills, and earn money.

We hire youth aides, student assistants (undergraduates), and graduate student assistants to perform a variety of tasks that require limited or no previous work experience. Student assistants may also earn credit toward graduation. During the school year and summer months, openings exist in the Sacramento headquarters and most of our district offices and facilities.

Special opportunities also exist for students in the engineering and architectural sciences and for those in second-year legal programs. Assisting in our engineering divisions or legal office, they can gain experience and contacts as they work closely with experts in their fields.

Since the recruiting and hiring of Student Assistants is decentralized at California State Parks, you must contact individual District and Division Offices to find out if they are recruiting for Student Assistants.
